Punk trio Green Day surprises with a May Day charity single. Green Day's cover of John Lennon's 'Working Class Hero' is available as a download as part of a
charity campaign to help people suffering in the Darfur region of Africa. The track will be available through iTunes. Green Day's single, which features some
of Lennon's original vocals, is part of a forthcoming covers album produced by charity Amnesty International, entitled 'Instant Karma: The Campaign To Save
Darfur'. REM have already covered Lennon's '#9 Dream', which was released in March, while Corinne Bailey Rae's version of 'I'm Losing You' appeared in April.
Other bands set for the full album, which is released on May 25 in the UK, include U2, Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilera, Jack Johnson, Snow Patrol and
Aerosmith.
May 4th, 2007. Spiderman 3 stays true to the series' tradition of stunning special effects, but it is also a darker, more psychological film than the other
two in the series. In the third, Peter Parker (a.k.a. Spider-Man), played by Maguire, is finally enjoying life with the beautiful Mary Jane Watson, played by
Kristen Dunst, when he discovers a mysterious black suit that gives him special powers, but also stirs hidden feelings of bitterness and revenge. What
follows is a battle between good and evil, revenge and forgiveness that is played out in airborne superhero fights as well as more mundane rows with friends
and colleagues.
I meet up with my former coworkers to watch the midnight and first showing of Spiderman 3. I cannot believe some fans camped out and waited in line. I'm too much of a princess to do that...plus Rudy bought advance tickets and they got to the theatre early and lined up in the rain. I just have to show up and am saved a very good seat in the theatre. I loved Spider-Man 3. I love how intricate the plot is. I love how cute Tobey and Topher Grace are.
The first Friday of the month and it's raining. The only good thing is Rose and I take a field trip to one of the local designing firms and have a good meeting and further cement future working relations. Then Rose and I are off to Holt Renfrew to look for shoes. We don't buy any shoes but we end up buying hundreds of dollars worth of cosmetics. She buys fragrances for her upcoming European trip. I buy my necessities -- my shampoo and skincare products.

Originally the plan was to dye my hair lime green, because that's the color Jann Arden told me to dye my hair the next time I see her in concert. If you recall, back in September 2006 at the Mariah Carey concert in Calgary, Jann Arden was sitting behind my lesbian Sandra and I in the third row. Anyways the plan was to have Sandra come up to Edmonton to watch the concert with me and my other lesbian Jeni. Unfortunately Sandra recently found a new job and couldn't take the time off. And then my lesbian Jeni just can't come. And my hair stylist didn't want to bleach my hair again in fears that my hair would break off. Instead Sophie just strips my hair of the blue and it becomes a lighter blue. I buy lime green dye on Whyte Avenue. I'm not sure if I would use it or not, since I will be wearing a hat strategically dipped below one's eye for Jann's two shows.

Dim Sum. Starbucks. Showhomes. West Edmonton Mall. H&M.

Orphaned and forced to live in a brutal workhouse, young Oliver wants "more" than the pitiable hand dealt to him by fate. Sold to the local undertaker, he
escapes into the seamy underworld of Victorian London where he falls in with a gang of child pickpockets. Though the staging for the show is phenomenal, and
the acting from the young actors very professional, this production of Oliver just doesn't bring the world of Charles Dickens alive. I suppose the target
audience were to the younger generation.
11 teams of All-Stars get a second chance to race over 45,000 miles across 4 continents, battling elements, health issues and each other. The Beauty Queens
Candice & Dustin, the new formed team Eric and Danielle, and the annoying pair Mirna & Charla are the three final teams in the Amazing Race All-Stars edition.
And the winner is the team I wanted to win out of the final three. It is the team who were yielded twice and overcame the obstacles. Crossing the finish
line first in San Francisco's Botanical Gardens are Eric and Danielle, the newly formed team for the race. Eric finished 2nd with Jeremy, narrowly missing
the million when they were beat by the hippies. However Eric found love with Danielle and were invited back to create the team that ultimately finishes
first for the All-Stars Edition.
My first pinstriped suit.

After buying my semi-permanent lime green hair dye on Whyte Avenue, I finally have the opportunity to apply it. Thank God I'm going to have lime hair just for a couple of days.

Jann Arden concert! "You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht. Your hat strategically dipped below one eye, your scarf it was apricot. You had one eye in the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte. And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner, they'd be your partner, and you're so vain! You probably think this song is about you! You're so vain! I'll bet you think this song is about you? Don't you? Don't you?" Ever since Jann Arden's "Uncover Me" album dropped, I've been singing along to her cover of Carly Simon's hit song. I also ordered an apricot scarf off of eBay and planned my wardrobe of what to wear to her concert. Then I kept believing and dreaming that Jann Arden would bring me up on stage. And it happens! After the first three songs, Jann talks to the crowd. She sees me and says "don't you look dashing!" I scream out "apricot scarf." Jann replies, "Apricot scarf, I might just do that one." When it comes time to sing "You're So Vain," she says, "Apricot scarf come on up." I hand my camera over to Wendy and I jump on stage in the blink of an eye, and that startles Jann. She walks over to me and starts talking and I take off my hat to reveal my lime green hair. "Jann I dyed my hair lime green just as you asked me to at the Mariah Carey concert." She totally remembers who I am and starts talking about Mariah Carey. I also tell her that she'll be receiving flowers from Sandra in Calgary. She asks if she is at the show too and I tell her she was unable to come on up. Jann says, "I never liked her anyways." I also say into the microphone that I don't sing. When she asks what I do, I tell her "I follow you and Mariah around." She says, "You sleep with a guy once and he'll never leave you alone." What an incredible night as she sings me a song that so describes me. I'm lypsynching away and totally hamming it up for the audience. Jann does pass the microphone to me, but I turn away, and I'm sure I blush cherry red. When I go back to my seat, I have to cross the stage and Jann yells, "Would you just sit down already!" It is an awesome night, the highlight of my year thus far.

Before Mariah Carey, there was Paula Abdul. I still remember back in junior high listening to Paula Abdul non-stop, especially "Rush Rush." Mariah Carey is featured on Bone Thugs N Harmony's "Stength & Loyalty" album. Their collaboration "Lil' Love" is the second single and a video will be filmed in June.

Jann doesn't bring me on stage the second night, but she sees me of course. At the end she points at me and waves goodbye.
My lime green hair only lasts for 2 days. It's a semi-permanent color just for Jann Arden, but once her concert is over, I redye my hair with my blue.

This spring I have been buying blazers left and right. This latest one is Armani Exchange's very casual, yet sleek knit blazer.

Another Lindsay Lohan movie. And it's another box office flop. This time I didn't go see the movie on opening day like I've done in the past with other Lohan films.
Lindsay needs to stop partying like a young girl out of control. I'm happy that she gets out and all, but there's no need to be snorting cocaine in washrooms and
drinking vodka in water bottles.
Since I'm housesitting for Rose & Jostein, I decide to take advantage of having my own place to host a dinner party. What's on the menu? It's ambitious for a guy who doesn't cook and who's last dinner party was four years ago. I prepare a salad with greens, tomatoes and portabello mushrooms. I create my own unique promengranate raspberry vinaigrette. The main course is coconut curry shrimp with spinach and asparagus on the side. I cook 6lbs of shrimp and all but half a pound are eaten. And there's three choices for dessert: brownies, strawberry rhubard pie and strawberry cheesecake. Everyone has to have all three.

Team Canada beats Finland 4-2 to capture another Men's World Championships. This tournament began with some nonsensical government bullshit about whether Shane Doan should be the team's captain. But other than that, Rick Nash proved to be the tournament's MVP as he scored an incredible goal to ensure Canada's victory.

It's been awhile since I've attended Binki & Vanity's show at the Roost.

Rufus Wainwright's 5th studio album "Release The Stars" soars into the galaxy. It is the first album produced entirely by Rufus. Pet Shop Boys singer Neil
Tenant is the executive producer. Producers Marius DeVries and Andy Bradfield mixed the record, and it features contributions from Richard Thompson, Joan
Wasser (Antony and the Johnsons), and actress Siān Phillips as well. The Tracklist is as follows 01 Do I Disappoint You 02 Going to a Town 03 Tiergarten
04 Nobody's Off the Hook 05 Between My Legs 06 Rules and Regulations 07 I'm Not Ready to Love 08 Slideshow 09 Tulsa 10 Leaving for Paris 11 Sanssouci
12 Release the Stars. I preorder the CD off of iTunes and there's a bonus track "Cowboy Song" included with the download.
Frasier The Complete 9th Season finally comes out on DVD. Now I just need the 10th season to complete the set. I believe it will drop later this summer in July.

My Chemical Romance plays Rexall Place. Brad invites me to the show because he absolutely loves the band. On the International Day Against Homophobia, I'm stuck in a taxi with two gay guys and a gay man trapped in a straight girl's body. But it's complete hilarity and homosexualized banter. Marco! Polo! Never again can Brad buy tickets. Our seats are so up that my nose starts bleeding. Well not really, but I've never been to a show where I sat in the nosebleeds. We are so far up that we could barely hear them sing and our ears don't ring. But it is a decent show...I know one of the band's songs.

After the concert we cab to Woody's and Shewanna's "You Don't Know" gameshow. Sarah and I are pulled up for "Lion King" trivia show. I'm leading the competition till the final question which is worth all the marbles. It's amazing how bad I'm at Lion King trivia; I was only in the lead because I just had to repeat what my friends shouted out to me. I guess cheaters don't always win.

I wake up at the crack of dawn to ensure my position at the front at the Winspear Box Office. Rufus Wainwright tickets go on sale and I need front row tickets. I know the first two rows slope down, but it'll be worth the neck pain to be that close to Rufus' scent. I'm in line beginning at 6:30am and it's another 2 hours before the second fan shows up. By the time tickets go on sale, the line up is a huge 7-person crowd. Obviously I get the desired tickets, plus I buy tickets for Sharebear and I also pick up a spare pair of tickets in the third row. LEAVE A COMMENT
May 18th...the third movie of the franchise is out. It shatters Shrek 2's box office opening record by selling $123 million in receipts for opening weekend.
I take Raya out to Buddy's for a night of dancing. Well more like a night of me watching her dance. But I do enjoy it.

With Daniel Alfredsson's overtime goal in the fifth game of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Ottawa Senators are one step closer to bringing the Stanley Cup back to Canada. The Senators will face either the Detroit Red Wings or the Anaheim Ducks for the grand daddy of NHL glory. It's the third year in a row where a Canadian team has made the Stanley Cup Finals. Unfortunately both the Calgary Flames and my team the Edmonton Oilers failed in their attempt of patriotic glorification. Let's go Senators!
The 3rd season of Desperate Housewives redeems a crappy 2nd season of the show. Gabrielle marries the wrong guy, Susan marries the right guy finally, Bree returns and is starting a deceiving pregnancy, Lynette faces cancer, and Edie it seems goes the way of Mary Alice.
STILL SIMPSONS STRONG
The Simpsons 18th season finale is also the animated series 400th episode. Much has changed since the night, 10 years ago now, that The Simpsons surpassed The Flintstones as the longest-running prime-time animated series on North American TV.
That old faithful, Scooby-Doo, lasted just 371 episodes, before going the way of the dinosaurs in Bedrock.
In the pantheon of cartoon characters, The Simpsons still lags behind the Japanese anime series Doraemon as the all-time heavyweight champion of TV 'toons.
Doraemon claims more than 600 outings to its credit, which may be why the Simpson family was compelled to appear on the Japanese game show Happy Smile Super
Challenge Family Wish Show in the 1999 episode 30 Minutes over Tokyo - and why, in that same episode, the Simpsons had to get jobs as fish gutters to earn
money for their tickets back home.
The Simpsons is full of hidden jokes, sneaky details, buried factoids and not-so-easy-to-recall catchphrases. In its 18 seasons to date, The Simpsons has
made a sport of amassing a sprawling cast of characters who can pop out of the Springfield woodwork at the most unexpected times.
The 400th episode, "You Kent Always Say What You Want," finds veteran newscaster Kent Brockman (Shearer) going all Don Imus on his nightly news program,
prompting Ned Flanders to launch an anti-indecency campaign.
"We've done an amazing thing this year," Jean said. "The episode we say will be the 400th will actually be the 400th." Ironically, the 400th episode was
written - and recorded - long before the recent Imus controversy. Simpsons episodes are conceived a year before they make it to the air, Jean said.
"I'd like to thank Don Imus for making our show so timely," he quipped.
The 400th episode will be the second new episode that evening. "You Kent Always Say What You Want" will be preceded by a send-up of 24 called 24 Minutes,
featuring the voices of Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub in their Jack Bauer and Chloe O'Brian roles.

Irish band U2 rocks the Cannes Film Festivalwith a two-song live set on the famous red carpet on their way into the main cinema for the premiere of a
new theatrical releasing film "U23D." One of the world's biggest rock acts, U2's gig attracted hundreds of fans who crammed around the VIP entrance to
the Grand Theatre Lumiere to hear Bono belt out Vertigo and Where the Streets Have No Name.

World No. 1 Roger Federer finally dethrones Rafael Nadal, the king of the clay court. For a run of 81 consecutive victories, nobody could beat Nadal on the
clay surface. However Federer in his sixth attempt playing Nadal, raises his game and grinds down Nadal to win the ATP Masters in Hamburg. Now it offers
hope for Federer to capture his first French Open title which begins May 28th. The French tournament at ROland Garros is the only Grand Slam Federer has been
unable to attain.
It's the first long weekend of the year to signal the beginning of our two days of summer. God rest the Queen! It's also Cher's 61st birthday so I was expecting a full out Cher show at the Stardust Lounge. Vanity Fair doesn't disappoint with her two Cher numbers, but I think Binki is in Supremes-land as usual. The show is fun, but it's not the greatest. I've been to a fair number of drag shows and this night isn't one of the more memorable. Don't kill me Binki and Vanity. The crowd is decent, the applause plentiful, but there still is something missing.

Blake or Jordin? Jordin wins and is now stuck releasing as her first single, the very shitty and ultra greasy cheesy
"This Is My Now." I didn't watch American Idol finale though because my eyes were glued to watching the third season finale of
"LOST." But I hear that Green Day was on the show singing John Lennon's "Working Class Hero." Damn.

Finally some answers on LOST. But of course way more questions. Don't be fooled. Not every episode is a flashback. This episode is the most brilliant episode in
LOST history. I've watched it twice already and can't wait till the third season DVD is released. Then I will watch all three seasons non-stop. This wait till the
fourth season of just 16 episodes is excruciating. And it won't premiere till January 2008. Damn.

It's the month of the trilogy of trilogies. "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" is the third trilogy movie to open this month,
the 30th anniversary month of when "Stars Wars" opened and changed the way cinema was viewed.
For sixteen days I house sit my boss' house and fish sit her goldfish. Their treasured goldfish is Fatso, this creature with loads of personality and a stomach full of food and other fish. Fatso brings me anxiety attacks but luckily he survived my care. Plus it's relaxing sitting down and staring at the fish tank. And yes I did talk to the fish: Fatso, Tuxedo, and the two parrot fish I named Lesbo 1 & Lesbo 2.
I cannot believe Rose & Jostein buy me cool undies from their trip in Norway. Right away I have to try them on and Rose captures it all so I can proudly display them on the Internet. They also buy me from the Norway Nasjonalmuseet - The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, a t-shirt of Edvard Munch's painting of Madonna.

Brad's sisters are in town and they are special guests at Bianca & Vanity Fair's Stardust Lounge. Brad's sisters Skylar and Scarlet bring "Dolly Pop" & "Ruby Slipper" (not to be mistaken from the Ruby Slippa drag queen who moved to Toronto) and pasties and boobies to the Roost. The show is much better than the week before and the hosts just love insulting Brad. That's what was missing from last week's show - the incessant fat jokes geared towards Brad. Yohko Oh No finally makes her first Stardust appearance at the Roost and she finally does a number a la Yoko Ono.

It's a week without hockey and I'm suffering withdrawal. Finally the Stanley Cup Finals begin with the Ottawa Senators at Anaheim Ducks. Which spurned ex-Oiler do I cheer for; Chris Pronger or Mike Comrie. Both are well hated, but I guess Pronger's betrayal is more recent. And Comrie is a home town guy. Let's go Ottawa...bring Stanley back home. And if the Senators can hoist the cup, it'll be the first for the expansion Senators team and the first Canadian team since 1993 to win the Cup. Unfortunately, Ottawa loses the first game 3-2. I'm keeping my chin up, it's a best out of 7 series. I'm confident with the Senators team.
ANOTHER QUEER OUTEDFormer "Frasier" multiple supporting actor Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce officially comes out after keeping his sexuality secret for decades. But the secret really wasn't a secret. Come on? Who didn't know the actor was gay. Pierce played Dr. Niles Crane in the long-running sitcom, has always refused to talk about his personal life. But the 48-year-old has allowed his long-term partner Brian Hargrove's name to be mentioned in an interview on CNN.com. In a paragraph carefully buried in the article, the journalist writes, "Pierce got to Los Angeles in the early 1990s when his partner, actor-writer-producer Brian Hargrove, wanted to write for television." Pierce's spokesperson has since confirmed Hargrove is the star's partner.
RUNAWAY SPOON
I have a lunch date with a teenager I met online. Yes that's right, a teenager -- though he'll be twenty soon. We have a great lunch at the Dish,
The Runaway Spoon. It's funny how I run into Christy before I go to the restaurant...and she's on a date with her mother also at the same place.
Sherri's in town taking a course for work. We're both tired and unenthused so we decide to perk ourselves up with Starbucks frappuchinos. It doesn't help.

Check out Wentworth Miller's assets. And I guess the Break jeans would do too.
